What is Tokenisation?

Tokenisation is the method that converts the rights of ownership of any asset into a digital token, which is then made available on the blockchain. Any asset has the ability to be tokenised – from property to people and paintings. For example: using tokenisation you can transform 200g gold into 200 tokens (or 2,000 tokens, or 2 million tokens). Each token, therefore, represents a 1 percent share of the underlying asset. This token is then issued on a platform – like eTokenize – to be bought and sold.

WHY TOKENISE ASSETS?

Tokenisation enhances liquidity by cutting out the middleman, making the overall trading of assets more efficient. Token ownership help to create a new economic model and fractional ownership sees new diversification models. Moreover, tokenisation helps eliminate temporal and territorial barriers encouraging investing for everyone.
